About AptResume
Why we built this
Most resume builders do the same thing: let you spend an hour building a resume, then reveal a paywall right as you go to download it — often a cheap trial that quietly renews at $25–$30 a month. It works for them, but it leaves job seekers frustrated and out of pocket at exactly the wrong moment.
We think a resume — the document that helps you get work — shouldn't be held hostage. So AptResume is free to use and free to download, with no account and no watermark. That's a promise, not a trial.
What makes it different
Most tools sell templates as looks. We organize everything around your industry and role, because what a registered nurse needs on a resume is different from what a software engineer needs. Pick your role and you start with prompts, skills, and example bullets written for that job — and a format built to pass applicant tracking systems, not just look nice.
How we stay free
Two ways, both designed to respect you:
- Tasteful ads. Relevant, clearly labeled, and never in the way. You'll never see an ad over your resume or standing between you and your download.
- Ko-fi. If AptResume helped you land something, you can chip in to keep it running. Entirely optional, and it never unlocks anything — everything is already free.
We don't store your resume on our servers, and we don't sell your data. Your resume lives on your device unless you choose to export it.
Our principles
- Free to build and download. No paywall, ever.
- Your data stays yours.
- Built to pass the bots, not just look pretty.
- Made for your actual job, not a blank page.
