These Terms of Use ("Terms") are a legal agreement between you and [legal entity name] ("AptResume," "we," "us") governing your use of this website and its tools (the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.

1. Eligibility

The Service is intended for users who are at least 18 years old, or who use it with the consent and supervision of a parent or legal guardian. It is not intended for children under 13, and they may not use it. If you use the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you're authorized to accept these Terms for it.

2. The Service

AptResume is a free tool for building and downloading resumes. There's no account and no charge to build or download. Your resume is created and stored on your own device (see our Privacy Policy). We may add, change, suspend, or discontinue features at any time.

3. Your content and responsibilities

• You own your content. The resume content you create is yours. Because it's stored on your device and not on our servers, we don't receive, store, or claim any rights to it.
• Accuracy and rights. You're responsible for the accuracy of your resume and for ensuring you have the right to use everything you include. Don't misrepresent your qualifications or include others' personal information without permission.
• Your backups. Because your data lives on your device, you're responsible for keeping your own backups using the save-file export.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• use the Service for any unlawful, fraudulent, infringing, or harmful purpose;
• copy, scrape, resell, or redistribute our templates, role content, or other materials as your own product or service;
• interfere with, disrupt, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or its systems;
• upload or introduce malware, or use automated means to overload or misuse the Service; or
• remove, obscure, or circumvent any notices, security features, or ad labeling.

5. Our intellectual property

The AptResume name, logo, website, templates, role content, example bullets, copy, and design are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by intellectual-property laws. We grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service and its templates to create your own resume for your personal job search. All rights not expressly granted are reserved. You may not use our materials to build a competing product or redistribute them.

6. No professional advice or guaranteed results

The Service provides tools and general guidance (including ATS tips and example content). It is not legal, career, financial, or other professional advice, and it does not create any professional relationship. We do not guarantee interviews, job offers, or that any resume will pass a specific employer's or applicant tracking system's screening. Outcomes depend on many factors outside our control.

7. Third-party links, ads, and services

The Service shows ads and may link to third-party sites and services (for example, Google/AdSense and Ko-fi). We don't control and aren't responsible for third-party content, products, or privacy practices. Your dealings with third parties are solely between you and them, and their own terms and policies apply.

8. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We don't warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, or that exports will meet every employer's or system's requirements. Some jurisdictions don't allow certain warranty exclusions, so some of the above may not apply to you.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, AptResume and its owners, operators, and suppliers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost data, lost opportunities, or lost profits, arising out of or related to your use of (or inability to use) the Service — even if advised of the possibility. Because your resume is stored locally, keep your own save-file backups. To the extent liability cannot be excluded, our total aggregate liability for all claims relating to the Service is limited to [USD 100]. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law (such as liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or your non-waivable statutory consumer rights).

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless AptResume and its owners and operators from any claims, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your misuse of the Service, your content, or your violation of these Terms or of any law or third-party right, to the extent permitted by applicable law.

11. Changes to the Service and these Terms

We may modify the Service or these Terms at any time. When we change these Terms, we'll update the "last updated" date above and, for material changes, provide more prominent notice. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

12. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or limit access to the Service if you violate these Terms or to protect the Service or its users. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, and governing law) will survive.

13. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of [state/country], without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. The courts located in [venue] will have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes, except where your local consumer-protection law gives you the right to bring proceedings elsewhere. 14. Copyright

If you believe content on the Service infringes your copyright, contact us at privacy@aptresume.com with enough detail to identify the work and the material at issue, and we'll respond appropriately.

15. General

If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest remain in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision isn't a waiver. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets. These Terms are the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Service.
